We work daily to build a more just and representative future that empowers inspiring new leaders to keep making Texas better. Our vision is to build the political power of young people to transform democracy in Texas and beyond. While we are known as MOVE Texas, we are comprised of two organizations.
MOVE Texas Action Fund (501(c)(4) is the political arm of MOVE Texas, an organization dedicated to building the political power of young people in underrepresented communities through civic engagement, leadership development, and issue advocacy.
MOVE Texas Civic Fund (501(c)(3) is a nonpartisan, nonprofit, grassroots organization building power in underrepresented youth communities through civic education, leadership development, and issue advocacy.
MOVE Texas operates throughout Texas and primarily in San Antonio, Laredo, Seguin, San Marcos, Austin, Houston, College Station, Fort Worth, Denton, and Dallas. We plan to continue growing and serving other cities and counties beyond these areas.

HOW TO GET INVOLVED
MOVE Membership
This is where change begins—with you. MOVE Texas members aren’t bystanders. We’re organizers, disruptors, and dreamers who believe in the power of young people to lead now. Becoming a member means taking a stand for a Texas where every vote counts, every voice matters, and every person has a role in shaping our collective future. By joining as a member, you’re making a commitment—to show up, to take action, and to build power alongside your community. Whether it’s registering voters, organizing events, or turning out for elections, your leadership makes the difference. Sign up for a MOVE Texas New Members Orientation at the following link.
Statewide MOVE Texas Membership: Members join the statewide network, gaining access to exclusive statewide virtual training, distributed leadership opportunities, and statewide campaigns. (Ex: Attending Anti Lege-Lege Club training, testifying at the capitol, or hosting a distributed National Voter Registration Day event.)
Local Membership (Chapters & Community Hubs): Members plug into local organizing through a MOVE Texas chapter, taking action in their own communities while staying connected to the statewide movement.
Campus Organizer
Campus Organizers are boots-on-the-ground student leaders participating in the Campus Chapter Program, MOVE Texas’ flagship leadership development program that invests in institutionally recognized student organizations that increase campus civic participation through voter engagement, community learning, and issue advocacy. By centering voter engagement and issue advocacy in the student experience, Campus Organizers create spaces for young people to become more civically engaged, build meaningful relationships, escalate peers into leadership, and mobilize their campus community on the issues they care about. Campus Organizers work collaboratively across the organization to build foundational civic leadership skills such as grassroots organizing strategies and tactics, political education, and leadership development through statewide and local training, experiential learning, and a guided capstone.

Artist in Residence
At MOVE Texas, we know that art is a highly effective tool to agitate, provoke and inspire action amongst young folks. The Artists in Residence Program is a space for new, Texas-based artists who want to use their creativity to fuel civic engagement, amplify the voices of young people across the state, and shape narratives influencing the Texas progressive ecosystem. Through this program, young artists will work directly with our organizing teams to create powerful works that bring political issues to life and mobilize their peers to take action.

National Artist of Texas Fellowship
The National Artists of Texas Fellowship is a project-based fellowship for artists who see their creative practice as a tool for collective liberation. Designed for strong, practicing artists eager to merge art with activism, this fellowship provides space to develop original work that sparks conversations, builds collective power, and moves Texans to take action. In each fellowship cycle, fellows explore a central theme—ranging from civic engagement to various issue advocacy areas —using their craft to confront systems of oppression and uplift movements for social progress. With mentorship, strategic guidance, and a platform to amplify their work, fellows create dynamic pieces contributing to cultural organizing and grassroots campaigns.

Service Learning & Academic Internships | Upon Request
MOVE Texas considers opportunities to partner for service learning or academic internships on a rolling basis.
Service-learning is an educational approach that integrates community service with classroom learning. Through the consistent and mutually beneficial nature of service learning/academic internship relationships, our teams can develop youth leaders that can lead a grassroots organizing movement beyond a single semester. MOVE discovered its power through campus-based organizing, and by deepening our relationships with campus institutions we can become the go-to organization for a holistic, rewarding, and meaningful civic and community-oriented learning experience.
